The Condos at Phillips Academy are located on Main Street across from Harrison Rink in Andover, MA. Duval Roofing worked with the developer, Contemporary Builders of North Reading, to choose roofing materials in keeping with the historic charm of the Andover area. In addition to lifetime architectural shingles, Duval installed new copper drip-edge, gutters, and downspouts as well as copper valleys and window trim.
Copper is beautiful, and a fitting choice for the location and history of the prestigious Philips Academy, but it is a difficult material to work with. Copper easily bends and dings, and is quite expensive, so our roofers took great care to avoid mistakes. While not a practical choice for most homeowners, copper is a lasting and beautiful addition for historic buildings and takes on a prized green patina over the course of many years.
The copper work was complemented by the selection of asphalt shingles for a classic look that will endure, keep the condos well protected, and enhance the value of the property.
